Another Fed v City Battle…over Sewage

The City recently rejected plans for a sewage storage tank to be located underneath a pool near Gowanus Canal.  The holding tanks would gather storm water during storms until treatment facilities could manage to treat the wastewater. Feds say current City plans don’t reduce polluted water from entering the waterway enough to meet Clean Water Act accepted pollution levels in the Canal and could force the City into building holding tanks.
